Luxurique President and CEO Naomi Mano discussed the future of the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions) industry in Japan in an interview with the TTGmice website.

In her role as president and founder of the Japan Mice Association, Mano talked about the challenges for the association’s members and its goal of making Japan an international destination of choice for business events and incentive schemes.

In the Q&A titled “Plugging the Gap,” Mano also explained how the association is working to educate its members and better market Japan as a place not only for travel but for conventions, meetings, management retreats and employee incentive programs as well.

“Lots of Asian countries have grown substantially in the meetings and incentives space in the past decade, but Japan has stayed put,” she said. “I think a lot of companies in [the] Asia Pacific want to send their meetings and incentives here, so we are in a strong position as long as we develop our knowledge and capability together.”

The Japan Mice Association was set up in March 2019.
